I want to setup Outlook 2003 to make emails in the default view different
colors. For example, if I am in the TO, I want the email to display in Red.
If I am in the CC, I wan the email to display in Blue. If I am not in the TO
or CC, I want the email to stay black.

I'm only talking about changing colors on the line that show From, Subject,
To, Recieved, etc not the actual display of teh email contents.

In Outlook: click on View, Arrange By, Current View, Customize Current View
Click on Automatic Formatting.

There will be a list of rules. One should say Mail sent directly to me.
Click on the box next to this rule to enable it. Click on the Font button
and you can change the color it will use in your inbox. If you click on
Condition, you can change the default setting of “only you in the To lineâ€.

From the Automatic Formatting window, click on Add. Name the rule, “Mail
sent where I am CCâ€. Click on the Font to set the color. Click on
Condition. Click on the box next to Where I am:. Then choose the option
that states “on the CC line with other peopleâ€.

Here are a couple of references for coloring mail.
