Colored Flags in Outlook Email

Do the colors of the flags have significance? Meaning, I keep gettin emails
from my boss and they are purple. I usually use the red (default I guess).
Or are the colors a matter of choice?

The colors mean whatever you want it to mean. There is no technical
difference amongst them.
