Color Quality Low

I'm having a problem with my lap top. I have windows xp. Turning on the
computer it comes up fine with the color qulaity, and then it flickers and
the desk top turn a ugly color, and then I open the display properties, and
the color display setting is 8 bits. and then I change it to 16 bits. After
that I click on apply and the setting display color is correct and look like
suppose to. Can you help me.

Go to the manufacturer's web page and download/install the latest video
driver for your laptop/OS.
