Is it possible to specify different codepages for different network
shares in Windows XP Prof. SP2?
I have a Buffalo LinkStation network hard drive and I want to store
files with Japanese and German names on it. If I set the XP system
codepage to Japanese I can put Japenese files there but German filenames
don't work. German system codepage does it vice versa. The LinkStation
does not allow to set the codepage for its exports and it does not use
Unicode (I think it uses FAT on the hard drive).
I kind of hope that XP allows something to set/override the codepage for
the shares so that I could create two shares - one for Japenese files
and one for German files (not ideal but acceptable for the moment).
Thanks, Gerald
