Hi All
How do i go about getting windows 2000 to install a CNR slot modem.
I put togather a barebones computer, it came with the CNR modem installed in
the main board , i installed all the other hardware includeing the CPU.
Did not get a modem cd with the system.
Windows installed great got service pack 4 on it and working great. But
could not get the modem to install.
Tried the motherboard cd , it lists the modem on it but will only insta a
(simple comunication dvice).
I finally got it to work by letting it copy files from win.XP cd.(which i
barrowed).
Can you give me some pointers here?
Thanks

If the manufacturer never wrote Windows 2000 drivers for the hardware
and it is not "generic" enough to use the "included" drivers, it isn't
"Windows 2000 compatible". But as you discovered "Windows XP drivers"
are able to be used, and so would be considered a work around. As to
"pointers", well, you have what you have, a "working modem".
