I dont want to say I told you so, but I did predict this...
in time Vista will climb up to number 1 place of the most horrible
technology products of all time!

Windows Vista
Any operating system that provokes a campaign for its predecessor's
reintroduction deserves to be classed as terrible technology. Any operating
system that quietly has a downgrade-to- previous-edition option introduced
for PC makers deserves to be classed as terrible technology. Any operating
system that takes six years of development but is instantly hated by hordes
of PC professionals and enthusiasts deserves to be classed as terrible
technology.

Windows Vista conforms to all of the above. Its incompatibility with
hardware, its obsessive requirement of human interaction to clear security
dialogue box warnings and its abusive use of hated DRM, not to mention its
general pointlessness as an upgrade, are just some examples of why this
expensive operating system earns the final place in our terrible tech list.

Well, if you are so GOOD at predictions as you say, why can't you pick the
CORRECT lottery numbers? You can't predict SH%T.

Is Vista Destined to be a Desktop-only OS?

Are you dumping Vista to return to XP?

My other laptop is still running XP Pro and I am very tempted
to let the cat out of the bag as to whether or not I might be
running XP SP3..... but, I won't. If SP3 gives even the slightest
bit indication that performance is increased by even a small
amount..... Vista adoption will suffer even more. Microsoft
might want to hold back on XP SP3 until after Vista SP1...
although, it's not going to really matter. To be fair, my Vista
machines run fine. Although, when I'm using the XP laptop,
things are definitely a bit more snappy.

Here's a link to a Cnet article;

Windows XP outshines Vista in benchmarking test
<quote>
New tests have revealed that Windows XP with the beta Service Pack 3 has twice the performance
of Vista, even with its long-awaited Service Pack 1.

Au contraire! Most have missed Vista's main goal: to drive all the
malcontents, pettifoggers, nay-sayers, cut-purses, and goblins to alternate
operating systems so the rest of us can have an enjoyable computing
experience, not pestered by cranks, pokenoses, blowhards, four-flushers, and
pointy-headed wowsers.

These complainers are nought but a rat bag of shoddy pedagogues, athletes of
the tongue, professional nit-picks filling the hours of their pointless days
with nagging. There they are, in a stuffy seminar room, with unwashed hair,
Walmart blue-jeans, batik tent dresses, and off-brand running shoes, the
synthetic fibers of their fake Aran Island sweaters pilling at the elbows
while they give each other high-fives.

In my view, they should be painted in vivid colors so normal folk can avoid
them.
