hey everyone!

ive got a tecra laptop and im gettn this cmos error on every bootup.

i was figuring a bad/dead cmos battery but i replaced it and im still
getting the error. then i was figuring maybe of resetting the bios
values and i did that too...still get the cmos error.

what are the chances of this new cmos battery being dead?

or, any other ideas of a cmos error? some steps im not thinking of?

thanks!

With a desktop board, one would unplug unit, remove the battery, locate the
CMOS jumper pin, move the pin from 1-2 position to 2-3 for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes,
then set back to 1-2 position, replace battery, start computer. This clears the
CMOS,and would probably take care of youre problem if the laptop has the
pin.
