cmd HELP to delete 1 of 2 XP OS in partition 1

Jonas has helped me to identify which OS I want to keep and which path I
would like to delete. This text was found on the last line of the SET cmd.

windir=C:\WINNT

The other installation in partition 1 is windr=C:\WINDOWS

Specifically, here's what is listed for c:\boot.ini

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect

What specific command do I enter at the
START->RUN cmd prompt to delete one of these paths (or installations) the
safest way? Do I have to delete the OS that's not currently running? Please
advise.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect

Delete above line from C:\boot.ini and delete c:\windows
