closing windows

when browsing and in my email (hotmail) If I have several
windows open at once and try to close them, when I hit
the x nothing happens, I have to hit CTR ALT DEL and end
them one by one. can someone help?

Lisa,
This is possibly caused by spyware/parasites. Work through the
solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Or, look at other programs which might be interfering with IE. Disable (for
diagnostic purposes) ad-blockers, antivirus, toolbars and other add-ons for
IE. You may have to uninstall/reinstall one of them.
