Closing Pop-up error window

Every single time I close down the IE window I get an
error message:

Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Then, I uncheck the square saying to restart IE, and
choose the "don't send" option at the bottom of the
message.

What a nuisance!
Has anybody else run into this, and what can one do?

Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at

If not caused by malware, consider disabling (for diagnostic purposes)
legitimate programs running in the background which might be interacting
with IE- security, antivirus, ad-blockers, toolbars & other add-ons, etc.
You may have to uninstall then reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.
