Closing personal folders - making me lose the will to live!

We have just migrated over to exchange. That all went surprisingly smoothly.

However, we are now left with a lot of left over personal folders in peoples
outlook. For a lot of these people when you right click on the personal
folder, then click close personal folder i get the error: 'Cannot Close
personal folders: the object cannot be found"

This error is really starting to get to me, the only way i have found to fix
is was to delete the whole users profile off their computer and start from
scratch. I do not want to do this for over 500 employees.

The original PST file is in the exact same location as it always has been, i
can browse all the old files and folders in the old personal folders but i
cannot close it. Which is sometime i really want to do because people get
confused when they see mailbox and personal folders.

please help!!!

You should have created a new profile for users when you migrated to
Exchange.

True. But when you ran a migration to Exchange, that all changed. I already
posted the only solution form the Outlook end of things.

are
an outlook think, not exchange,
