Problem with personal folders

Dinu

I've set a personal folder to my outlook and have few of my mails in that..
These personal folders work fine for sometime once I log in to outlook, but
later they stop functioning and if I try to access those folders I get an
error "The set of folders cannot be opened. ' Microsoft office outlook '
exited without properly closing your Outlook data file. ' D:\personal
folders.pst '. ' Microsoft office outlook ' must be restarted. If this
message recurs, Contact Support for ' Microsoft office outlook ' for
assistance. "
if I restart my outlook this works fine. Please let me know a possible
solution for this. I even tried executing SCANPST.EXE but never able to fix
the problem. Please help me.

Regards,
Dinu

Did you only run scanpst.exe once? Try it again, run it repeatedly until no
further errors are found. Then try again with Outlook. Make sure Outlook is
closed when you run scanpst.
Also, you need to find out why Outlook is not closing the data file when you
exit. Is something keeping it open? When you exit Outlook, check your task
manager to see if Outlook.exe is still running in the processes.
If this is the case, read here for a list of reasons why that might happen
and what you can do:

There was no error while executing scanpst.exe. The problem is the personal
folders work fine for sometime after initial login, then it gives me the
error while trying to access after sometime. I never closed outlook in the
mean while. What would be a possible solution for this problem. Please help
me.

Is the location of your PST on your PC/laptop or is it located elsewhere
(network drive, etc.)?
