Closing a MSWord document

Re: Microsoft Office Word 2003 SP3
Recently I've been experiencing a delay of +/- 10 secs every time I close a
Word document whether it's a blank one or a working doc.
The same applies when I close the program itself
I've tried everything I know that could help but the problem has refused to
go!
Please tell me what else I may do to sort it out!

Have you checked your computer for viruses etc., and performed Disk
Cleanup and Disk Defragmentation?

If you have Outlook installed, whether you actually use it or not, you could
be encountering automatic Journal entries which is a common cause of a delay
when you close Word documents. In Outlook, go to Tools/Options and on the
Preferences tab, click Journal Options. Make sure the none of the Office
apps are selected in the "Also record files from" section.
