cloning XPe's & applying AD GPO's

Hi,

I am new to XPe, and am setting up Wyse winterm(s).

I am getting the hang of Wyse's Disable/Enable Write Filters, making changes
to the box, saving the settings. I guess they have software called Rapport
that images/manages this, but I've only installed it and not yet used it or
learned how.

Are there alternatives? If so, which ones are good?

Also, by default it appears there is a User and an Administrator. Is it a
Best Practice to make the device a member of my AD, and log in as a domain
user, and then apply GPO's as needed? Suspect yes, but want to know if
there's any caveats.

I kind of went this road as I was having trouble doing anything in the
default local User, like setting background wallpaper, making changes,
because it was so locked down.

Thanks for any help!

Mike,

IIRC, Rapport software was disconnected by Wyse a couple years ago. You may want to check with them.

Ask Wyse about utility called NETXFER.

Only if the current image on the terminals includes domain environment networking components (like netjoin, etc.).
If not, you would need to ask the manufacturer to change the image for you. (IIRC, this is extremely hard to Wyse)

These options can be easy changed in registry under Admin account.
