Hi,

I've encountered some issue using NTFS Pro & Ghost to clone my Windows XP
partition.

Using NTFSDOS Professional Boot Disk Wizard, i selected to install DOS4G
extender and created 3 boot disks. Then I booted up the PC using the created
disks. However, while mounting the NTFS partitions, NTFS PRO encountered the
following message:

Environment variable COMSPEC not defined. Cannot load command interpreter.

This would dismount the mounted partitions on my harddisk in DOS environment.
I've included the /S switch with NTFSPRO.EXE but it didnt help.

Can someone advise on this?

Thanks!

Why would you use NTFSDOS Pro to clone your partition? Ghost
should be sufficient!

Hi,

That's because I would like to clone NTFS partition to another NTFSDOS
partition.
The targetted partition needs to be read and written.

Instead of using Ghost, I use Acronis products. They let me clone
any disk or any partition to any other disk or partition. I thought
that Ghost would offer the same facilities - doesn't it?

If it doesn't then you could boot the machine with a Bart PE
boot CD (www.bootdisk.com). It lets you access any partition,
NTFS or FAT. I have often used it for cloning partitions.

Ghost can handle NTFS disks/partition natively.
