Cloning hard drive

My boss would like to move to a newer, faster laptop but maintain his
environment.

I "cloned" the hard drive (using EZ-GIG) and all files seem to be there, but
if I try to boot I get the dreaded "Inaccessible Boot Device".

I tried an ERD repair, no luck

Does anyone know a way to do this ?

Many Thanks in advance

Humm, laptops typically have proprietary drivers(and LOTS OF THEM), I
would be amazed if you could even do a repair install and have a working
system.

Whatever you do, do not try Acronis, I have done that and lost a drive
with lots of photos and video. It does not tell you untill you try to
restore then you get a message telling you the image is corrupted. For
that one disk I did not have a MS Backup. :-(
