clock synchronization

Windows XP seem to include a clock synchronization
function. In my computer the time server is set as
time.nist.gov. However, it does not seem to work. When
using the update button there is a response according to
which there is a problem with connecting to the time
server. Is this caused by my personal firewall? I have also
tried atomic clock sync. Here manual updates work, but not
automatic synchronization.

You can select from several servers.

I use time.windows.com and have no issues with updates.

Your personal firewall [Norton's?] should always prompt you if it is to block a site or programme access for the first time: I'd expect that it will not cause you any concerns.

I do have Norton's firewall with
"time.windows.com" and everything
works.

My firewall is F-Secure. Actually, this seems to be the
problem. I succeeded in connecting to time.windows.com
after disconnecting the firewall.
