Clock skew detected

CKKwan

I got this error message pop up at least 10 times a day for the pass
one month.

I am using Vista (the CPU time is auto sync to a time server) and
outlook 2007.

I have contacted the server admin but nothing had been done.

Can't we just ignore this error message? Isn't it harmless?

Do you know what software they use for the imap server? I believe this is a
UNIX/Linux error and if the server won't let you ignore it, you can't.

How much is it off? Can you sync your time with the same server they sync
to?

Since you say it began about a month ago, I wonder if its related to DST...
if they changed the time instead of the TZ, it could give this error.

Diane, thanks for the info.

I have no idea what software / OS they uses for the server but believe
it is a UNIX error.

The problem is, if I sync with this server, I am out of sync with the
rest of others. :(

It is ok not to ignore this error, but is there any way to configure
outlook just log it into the Server Status instead of POP up the
Dialog box and require me to click OK everytime?

I mean, not to ignore. The IMAP will get disconnected (and probably re-
connect later), but instead of poping up a dialog once or twice ever
hour, I think it will be best just to log it in the server status
(instead of shwoing in dialog box).

I really don't know how far it is off, but I guess it is around 30
minutes. The server admin is very unhelpful, but unfortunately I have
been using this email account / server for almost 10 years, it is very
difficult for me to change. :(

Thanks for your help :)

You can't disable or turn off the error message dialogs - it almost always
comes up when there is an error. If you are showing the progress dialog,
try closing it - occasionally that will keep the dialog from coming up as
often.

I just found out that. This problem doesn't exist in Outlook Express.
It only happen in Outlook 2007.
