Clock problems

I have two Toshiba laptops, one brand new, and the other a couple of years
old (Satilite models). The clocks tend to be off on both models. I'm
thinking this is some kind of Toshiba thing. I've tried doing all the
recomended battery checks but it makes no differnce. I've made sure that
the cmos clock is set to the same time as the windows clock. The problem
is intermitant on both machines. I tend to doubt it's a bad clock battery
because both machines have had this problem since they were taken out of
the box.

Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Paul.

How much off? Are we talking seconds a day, or minutes? Is the error
noticed at boot, or do you lose time while system in use? I have a program
called Bexclock, which runs at startup and sets the correct time from the
internet. My MSI motherboard gains about 5 sec a day. If you want good
timekeeping, buy a good watch.

Mike.
