Hello all. I have been posed a question concerning a
problem with clock settings. This person informed me that
when she starts up her computer she constantly has to
change the time (ie startup asks to change to time and
press f1 to except). It then reverts back to the year
1990. Any suggestions on solving this problem? Thanks

When does it revert back to 1990 - while Windows is
up and running, or after she has switched off the PC?

I believe while the computer is up and running. It prompts
her to fix it every times she boots.

I suspect that what you say is incorrect. Most likely her
PC keeps correct time while Windows is up and running,
and it loses its marbles when the machine is switched off.
Open the case and replace the button cell battery!

If she is prompted to press F1,,Then this is from a
bootup. The 1990 date is a default cmos setting. This is
used because it's not holding any changes you/(client)
are making to the time/date. As Pegasus stated, change
your internal battery. This almost always corrects this
problem,, assuming you have no actuall motherboard
problems.
