My clock isn't keeping accurate time. Whenever I shut
down or stand by, the clock stops working. I've tried
turning off the sych in internet time server and that
doesn't work. Im using XP home edition. Can anyone help?

You need to replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard. It is about the
size of a quarter.

If you are losing time when the system is turned off, you need to replace
the battery on your motherboard.

If you are losing time while the computer is powered off, almost
certainly you need to replace the small inexpensive battery on
the motherboard.

Those are both irrelevant. It's a hardware issue, not a software
one.
