Clock losing time

P

Peter

Greetings,
My clock is losing time, regardless of whether or not the
computer is on or off. It was at the point where it would
lose an hour and a bit over night. I reformatted thinking
i had some software conflicts and it kept time for two
days perfectly, then i installed all of the critical
windows updates, and it was still keeping time. I
installed QuickenXG, OfficeXP, MSN Messenger, and Shazam.
I noticed that it was starting to lose time again and
suspected msn messenger, because the system has been fine
for the past 2 years with the other software installed.
That has reduced the amount of time lost but it is still
losing time, just at a slower rate. I replaced the
battery and that hasn't made a difference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Peter

Try deleting the Adj Value Name using tip 2273 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at

Then open a CMD.EXE prompt and type:
net stop W32Time
net start W32Time
