clock doesnt work

Just put a new hard drive in the laptop and the clock
doesnt work. i set it and then its two hours later and
the time hasnt changed. please help its really starting
to annoy me

Can you read time in the BIOS? You may have broken it while changing HD.

the clock works but when i set it after about ten mins it
kinda stops. it seems when the computer either hibernates
or supends or the screen saver comes on it just freezes
up. when i double-click the clock its running like if
nothing is wrong except that its not the right time. i
also tried to fix the problem in BIOS and the same thing
happens. so i'm lost

Have you checked the battery on your motherboard, it may be dead
