Clipboard Toolbar Problems

When I do a sequence of Copy/Paste operations, the clipboard toolbar pops up
and gets in my way. When I exceed 12, I get an additional popup saying that
12 is the limit and asking me to confirm the copy. I'm not interested in
any of these old copy targets. Is there some option or other way to avoid
these annoyances?
 
you can turn off the Office Clipboard

On the Clipboard task pane click Options.
Clear the Show Office Clipboard Automatically check box.

Note To copy items to the Clipboard while it is turned off, select the
Collect Without Showing Office Clipboard check box.
