Clipart in Frontpage

Just a basic question, hopefully anyway. Our office puts
memos together in Excel. I then take a copy and past
everything over into FrontPage.

Now my question is, why does Clipart copied from Excel
appear to be a vector image when pasted in FrontPage? I
will have the layout perfect in design view, and then
find the image in a totally different spot when published
& viewed in IE. It always takes a half dozen tries, as
well as some very odd design placement, to get the image
to appear where I want it.

How can I prevent this nonsense?

How are you placing the image, through absolute positioning or through a
table? Don't use the absolute positioning because it has it's flaws and
isn't supported in all browsers. Tables are best, but must be laid out
carefully. Do you have a URL of an incorrect sample that we could look at?

By using the right tool for the right job. Excel is a desktop application
for creating spreadsheets. FrontPage is a network client application for
creating web sites and web pages. Translating a spreadsheet or other
proprietary desktop binary file into a web page is about as easy as
translating an apple into a brick. Microsoft has done what can be done, but
you can't expect them to do what cannot be done. A web page will never be a
spread sheet.

I don't now about Apples into bricks but I know about Compaqs turing into

It is on an intranet, so unfortunatley no on the url. I
try to use tables actually, but the image won't paste
into a cell. It seems that I can insert one of my own
just fine, but not when it is taken from the Excel
document.

That isn't an option. If you please re-read the beginning
of my original post, it is a memo created in Excel by our
department, not me. Besides Excel is far superior to Word
for putting together data filled memos.

Then learn to deal with the nonsense. Maybe in another 5 - 10 years the
technology will have advanced to the point that it isn't a problem.

Thanks, but I know there is an answer out there. I shall
keep looking.

Not to necessarily flame on anyone, but I forgot to
mention that this wasn't an issue in Office 97. I have my
doubts that technology has actually regressed to a point
where it will take the mentioned 5-10 years to catch back
up to where we were approx. 7 years ago.

You need to get the original clipart, insert into a image application, and
then save as GIF or JPEG image to your desktop, then import it into the web
and inserted it on your page.

Well it is an option, at least. But it would likely be
difficult to do so every time, which is daily.

I just can't understand why something mundane in '97 is
such an issue in more recent versions.
