Clip Art Disc

I have a new computer Windows XP home. My clip art
gallery has a large selection of thumbnails, but they all
show a small disc in the right hand corner. A message
then comes up telling me to insert disc 7. This disc
didn't come with my system, and I can't seem to find it
on microsoft. How can I use the clip art. Does anyone
know the whereabouts of the mystery disc.

Disk 7 refers to one of the disks that came with the clip
are software.
It sounds like the clip art is not using a common
compresion format and you may either search online using
the file extension or obtain another copy of the clipart
software Disk 7.

This sounds like part of a program you got with your computer. No
Windows operating system has ever come with clip art, or an Office
suite, or greeting card software. If you had this, it is because these
programs were bundled and preinstalled by the computer mftr. (like HP,
Compaq, Dell, etc.) You should contact your computer's mftr. for the
answer to where the 7th disk is.

Some programs install with the option "install on first use" to save disk
space. The disk icon in the right hand corner indicates that these are
files that have not yet been installed. To install them, you need disc 7.

Since Windows, and apparently a selection of programs, was preinstalled --
there should be a disk somewhere for these items. If not on a physical CD,
perhaps in a folder on the hard drive somewhere or perhaps the manufacturer
has the needed files tucked away on a disk called "Applications."

If you are unable to find what you need, I suggest calling tech support for
the new computer and ask them. Since you don't have Disk7, they have
changed the conventional method for installing the files. They will know
best what alternative they have provided for you.
