Clip art animations won't work

I cannot get the clip art I downloaded from Microsoft to animate it just
inserts into the Power Point as a picture. I have looked for the Animation
Player download and cannot find it either.

First Question back to you? Was the clip art an animated GIF? (i.e. did it
move on its own). Animation in Powerpoint controls the way an image enters,
exits or moves around on the screen, but not actual movement of the character
or things in the image. Check the file you downloaded. Bring it up in
Internet Explorer and see if you see movement. If not, it is not an animated
GIF file.

Michelle,
The animated clips from Microsoft will only play when you are viewing the
show - not when you are editing it. In addition, if you are using PPT 97,
they won't play at all. If they aren't moving when you play the presentation
and you are using a newer version of PPT than 97, let us know which version
and which clip and one of us volunteers will check it out. :)

Is there any way I can play the GIF animation in PPT 97? Is there a download
that would help me?

The clip are was an animated GIF and moved on its own on the Microsoft
Website. I do have PP 97 if that makes a difference.

You would need to convert the animated gif to a movie format to play it in
PPT 97. PPT 97 is older than the Animated Gif format, so it doesn't know how
to handle them.
