clientCaps behavior in IE under XP SP2

Hi

On an XP SP2 machine, Internet Explorer returns empty string for
getComponentVersion (for an object with the clientCaps behaviour) for
Flash and WindowsMedia Player IDs. Previously these worked.

Is this due to SP2? I can't find any mention on the web

Thanks. Unfortunately, this document doesn't mention anything
regarding this.


Anyway, I have spoke to Microsoft and, for privacy reasons, they have
restricted which components can be detected to the list as specified
in the MSDN library (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/
behaviors/reference/methods/detectable.asp) - you can no longer detect
all the components registered in the approriate registry key
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components)

However, we have created new code code to detect the required
versions. Thanks
