Well I have a Computer running Windows 2000,
That was rebooting on it's own as soon as you power it up...
I orriginally thought it was virus related so I download stinger ffrom
McAfee, but found nothing, I also was able to run Ad-Aware after several
attempts to clean up the system with Spyware, It also took sometime because
of the occasional restart, but I was able too update all the patches from
Microsoft's Update site..

Now The system does not reboot now as often as it did previously,
However though, I've found out that it wont allow me to run a complete virus
Scan using McAfee's Online scan.. It also wont let me do a system repair,
using my system CD w/ chkdsk /r etc. both cases end up rebooting the system
occompanied with one of several stop errors, related to DUMP OF PHYSICAL
MEMEORY, such as KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and so
on..

I have read several topics here and most of them seem to reccomend checking
the drivers referenced in the errors which I did, in one case, with the
driver for the DLINK network card "DLKRTS.sys" but got the same errors after
reinstalling from the manufacturer's website..

One other suggestion on this discussion board was the Virus Scanner, so I
stopped the Norton service and have it set for manual rather than automatic
at start up, but the problem still persist..
I've now gotten IE to the point where it wont restart the system, but
instead restarts IE when trying to run the Online Scan from McAfee..

Does anyone have any other suggestions for me, if so please reply
Thanks, RAD

I did, I switched memory with another system... it seemed to work for a short
while.. however, it went back to the same behaviour... and the memory only
seem to affect the one particular system.... I also increased the amount of
disk space for the Temporay Internet Folders as someone suggested in one of
these postings, but my issue still remains...

Any other suggestions?
