Hello, i got a situtation here, and hardly find any solution.

I have a server setup using WinXP Pro, and i have few user(client)
connecting to the server to obtain file.

every user will have different permission on different folder, such as
modify and viewing.

I already put permission on different folder using the Sharing and security
option on every folder.

The main problem is, when user log on to the server using run
"\\192.168.1.2", which that ip is my server ip, there is no window prompting
for password and username. So by defeault everyone is treat as guest.

what should i do, to make the username/password window come out

Have you disabled simple file sharing on the server?
