I may have erroneously posted the IE repair in your case.
However, the command line "iexplore /rereg" (no quotes) should be
run from a Run > Dialog Box. This is supposed to re-register all DLL
files in IE (Service Pack2) without having to resort to a "Repair Reinstallation"
of your operating system.
I will have more details for you by the end of the weekend.
