clicking on one program icon highlights all other icons

When i try to open a program such as word several other
icons also are selected and open one after the other> If
i any word in a document large sections of document are
highlighted. I have Norton antivirus which does not
indicate a virus althouht numerous viruses have recently
been identfied.

check your keyboard, the CTRL or Shift keys sound as if they're stuck

Did you find a solution. I'm having the same problem.

Multiple highlights on my desktop, keyboard locked in
uppercase, Shift and Caps Lock keys not responding. I've
read one other post about same problem, changing keyboard
and mouse did not help.

If other viruses were detected and not cleaned up, I'd just format the
hard drive and reinstall Windows. Why mess around? Then install your
programs from cd's and restore your data from backups.
