clearing temp internet filestaking too long

Everytime I delete the temporary internet files it takes
such a long time. Right after it completes and I do it
again it still takes a long time.
When I then click "OK" it also takes awhile before it
closes.
I've ran Ad-Ware and Spybot and tried Defragging my drive,
but nothing seems to work.
I am using Windows XP. All functions on the other users
screen work fine.
Any Suggestions?

You may have corrupted index.dat file in the TIF. See this link for info about a tool to remove this file and related info:

Also, after correcting this problem, reduce the disc space limit to 50MB for the TIF cache. See Tools | Internet Options | General [tab] > Settings.
