How do I clear my search menu in Windows XP? When I
perform a search in Windows XP, it seems to remember what
I searched for...! So even if I type a single letter 'm'
for example, a list of everything I've searched for
starting with 'm' appears in a drop down menu. How do i
clear this menu?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx!

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the help! But when I turn AutoComplete On
again, the history is still there. Is there a way to
completely erase it? I went to your site. It has a lot of
very useful stuff! I tried the Clear Recent File Lists
program you created and tried clearing the Search
Assistant field, but I got a "Runtime error '9': Script
Out of Range" error.

Hi Mel,

Are you speaking of Search or the Address bar? If the latter:

IE/Tools/Internet Options/Content/AutoComplete/Clear AutoComplete history

Clear Recent Documents.

Clean out Usage Tracks in Windows

As for the runtime error, reboot.
