Clear autocomplete not responding

L

L'l John

Using Internet Explorer 6.0 with all updates.

When I attempt to clear "AutoComplete" history (forms & or Passwords)
nothing happens. I get the "not responding" error and have to end IE. It
then offers to send an error message to Microsoft, which have done numerous
times. The error message info is posted below:

C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNNO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61f0.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp

C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNNO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61f0.dir00\appcompat.txt

How can I fix this?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Have you checked this LOG file for any module names involved in the crash.

C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNNO~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER61f0.dir00\appcompat.txt

BTW, see if launching the INETCPL.CPL, and then clear the auto-complete.
(without opening an IE window) helps.

Ok, here's what I did!
Instead of just attempting to Clear the Forms first, I have been trying to
just Clear Passwords first. By clicking to Clear Forms first then Clear
Passwords, It completed the chore.
I still wonder why I could not just Clear Passwords without Clearing Forms.
Thanks,
John
