What is a good program to use to clean up files left
behind when programs are removed from hard drive.
Also will clean up registery.

It is not really necessary to use a registry cleaner with Windows XP.
However, System Mechanic (www.iolo.com) includes an excellent
registry cleaner/optimizer program that works well with Windows
XP. It includes an "undo" backup feature, handy if the registry
cleaning process should corrupt your system.

On the contrary, a regcleaner is very very useful on Windows XP. I suggest
JV16 Power Tools.

FWIW,

I agree with Carey on that. They tend to do more damage than good. I would
not recommend using any of them.
