Hello,

I'd like to reinstall Win XP Pro on my machine, which was
XP and 2000 already resident on the drive. Can somebody
tell me what I need to do to perform a clean
reinstallation on Windows XP Pro? Thanks!

Tom, do you want to keep the dual boot. If yes, just boot from your WinXP CD
and choose to format your WinXP drive.
Then select new install from the menu.

DO, I don't want dual-boot, just to delete all OS's so I
can cleanly reinstall Win XP. Thanks!

Backup date, then do it as part of a reinstall of the system after
booting the XP CD direct. Enter Setup, and after the license agreement
take New Install. When it asks you to confirm where, hit ESC; select
and delete the current partition (s) and make a new RAW one to be
formatted at the next stage

You will then need to reinstall applications.

I strongly suggest that before you go on the net you enable the
firewall, and then as first action go to Windows Update and get the
critical security fix 824146 against BLAST and its friends
