I'm getting a 'Class not Registered' error when I try to right click on
'Computer' and select 'Manage'. The same error appear when I try to open
'Event Viewer', 'Devices' etc. I run Vista Ultimate
Thanks
I have the same problem, but I'm running Vista Home Premium in spanish. So
far I've tried with Tuneup Tools 2007, SFC.exe (which seems to be the
replacement for good ol' regcheck), Windows System Restore and messing around
with some classes in the Registry Editor with no luck. It kinda leads me to
conclude how much I miss XP's OS repair (which isn't included in Vista, at
least not in its Dell System CD as it used to be - just system restore and
some checkups), and that no version of Vista is free from this issue since it
seems to be a generalized regkey misprotection. Who knows how many of these
loopholes are around WV?
As a tip, maybe you could try to open the event manager and other management
utilities via msconfig.exe (you can execute commands from the Task Manager),
and hit the "Tools" tab. At least it worked for me, but haven't found
anything interesting in my logs yet... just a couple of updates which I
erased with system restore.
I think maybe I'll call Microsoft support hotline, but I'll be really glad
if some help could come from here. Thanks!
