Clamwin ERROR on Hidden Files

I'm running Clamwin 0.35.2 on Windows XP. Even though I've turned on
"Show hidden files" in the Windows Explorer File View, Clamwin's virus
scan logs an error message whenever it finds one. Here's an extract:

ERROR: Can't open file C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/NTUSER.DAT
ERROR: Can't open file C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/ntuser.dat.LOG

From other posts I've seen, I gather that turning on XP's view hidden
files option should suffice, but in my case, it seems not to have worked.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks,

There is nothing wrong. This files are in use by the system and can´t be
accessed.

Best regards,
Christoph

Thanks for the response! Is there any way to exclude these files from
the search (would prefer not to do this), or to force a scan (say, by
running the scan after booting in Safe Mode)?

Does the restriction apply to other virus scanners, like BitDefender?

It seems like this would be a potential security exposure if somehow a
virus *could* be inserted into one of these files!

Thanks,
Bryan
