Circular Reference in Workbook causing Excel to crash.

My Excel workbook is password protected. When I enter in
the password I get a message saying 'Microsoft Excel
cannot calculate a formula. Cell references in the
formula refer to the formula's result, creating a circular
reference. Try one of the following:
- If you accidentally created the circular reference,
click OK. This will dispay the Circular Reference toolbar
and help for using it to correct your formula.
- For more information about circular references and how
to work with them, click Help.
- To continue leaving the formula as it is, click Cancel'

No matter whether I click on OK or CANCEL, on the pop-up I
get a message saying 'EXCEL.exe has generated errors and
will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the
program. An error log is being created.' Excel then
closes my workbook. No matter how many times I try I
can't get in...I can see the information is there but I
can't get to it. Anyone have any ideas on what I should
do?

This *might* work: Open Excel. From the File/Open dialog, highlight
(click once) on the file. Hold down the shift key, and with the shift
key down, click Open. This prevents macros from running, I think it
also prevents autocalculation when opened. If the file opens, then you
can try to find the circular reference. Control ~ shows formulas I
believe. HTH.
