Chris Lanier Re-install question

what is the "basic" reason these people are re-installing
windowsXP? they had a virus attack maybe? or some other
files became corrupt? maybe they did not install XP
properly? someone just told them to re-install?

i have desktop OEM computer with XP out-of-the-box and
have not seen a virus (i don't open unknown
email/attach't) or major problems with the software.
i also had win98 for 5 years and never had a problem with
win98 either.

In Windows XP there is not a whole lot of reasons just do a reinstall. A
reapir install can be used in most cases. the one reason to do a full
reinstall would be....if you think you computer is running slower than it
should be, and you dont want to try and fix every little thing that is wrong
with it you can reinstall. I personaly reinstall (restore a backup) of XP
about every 3 months. i keep all of the documents on seperate partitions,
so we i want i can just reinstall.

if your not having any problems at all, just keep it the way it is. "If
it's not broke, dont try and fix it"

hope i answered your question, if you have any other questions just reply
again.
