I can't get windows to read *.chm files. Apparently these are just help files and as far as I can tell I should be able to read them in internet explorer. I've downloaded the latest version of explorer and the latest service pack but they still won't open. When I search the web for a programme to read the files microsoft return that it doesn't recognise the file extention

Anyone got any suggestion?

They are Compiled HTML Helpfiles

Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types and look for CHM to see if
you have an association. Mine says they are opened with Microsoft HTML Help
Executable. The problem is I couldn't find a program with that name so
something is opening them but?

Jerry;

Microsoft® HTML Help Executable = hh.exe

It lives in C:\WINDOWS & C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
