chkdsk

My computer is giving me an error. Then tells me to run the chkdsk utiliy.
Problem is, I don't know how. Please help
 
Open My Computer, rightclick the drive icon, click Properties, then Tools
tab, do the "Error Checking"
 
At a Command Prompt issue the following command:

chkdsk /?

That will give you help on the command. To open a Command Prompt click
on Start->Run and enter cmd in the Run box. Or press the Winkey+R
(Windows key plus letter R) and enter cmd.
