chkdsk problem

Have read and tried all the suggestions for getting chdsk to run. i.e. not
got zone alarm or hitman installed. Tried the x switch to force dismount as
used with NTFS, no go. Set chkdsk to run at start up, no go. Any more
suggestions. Have SP2 installed

Is your hard drive partitioned? Which partition are you trying to
check?

Have you run Disk CleanUp first in all User Profiles?

What message are you getting when it fails to start?

-I- have. It didn't help at all. I'm getting desperate. I cannot find a
way to run chkdsk, and the system keeps telling me I have corupt files and I
much run it! HELP!
