After scheduling disk check my machine keep checking the disk in a loop. Cancel lead to blue screen too quick to read and back to the loop. I tried all safe mode options. I run recovery consol from installation disk 2000 sp2 run CHKDSK/R FIXBOOT and FIXMBR. It didn’t help. I understand that later versions contain CHKNTFS, which I download from window XP 6 disk installation. But I couldn’t run it on either machine (downloader or incapacitated one)

You may have a BAD hard disk !

Go to the hard disk manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic software and test
your hard disk.

Western Digital - Data Lifeguard Tools (DLGDiag)
Seagate - SeaTools
Hitachi/IBM - Drive Fitness Test (DFT)
Maxtor - PowerMax.

Passed the test (Western Digital). For some reason it set CHKDSK flag
and it can't reset it CHKNTFS suppose to handle it. It was introduce
on later version of 2000. I can find it on my hard drive but can't
revoke it.

Even in safe mode (I tried every option) it runs CHKDSK. If I cancel
CHKDSK it bring blue screen and reboot too quick to read

Set another win2k from there I can run CHKDSK and CHKNTFS both come
out good. CHKNTFS /D or /X doesn't clear the problem. How can I edit
the first installation from the second installation, and what HOT-KEY
I have to edit to cancel initial CHKDSK?
