When I used Win 2000 with Office 2000, I was able to install a
Chinese-character input system from MS. Now I have upgraded to Win XP, still
using office 2000, but I cannot find out how to re-install this system. Not
only that, but since I have tried to re-install it, whenever I boot up I get
a message that says "NT scanner has failed," etc. This is annoying, to say
the least, and I don't know what it means. Not only did I not get what I
wanted, but now I have to deal with this message every time I turn on my
computer. And it shuts off my virus detection, so I have to turn that back
on manually. Can someone tell me either how to turn on the Chinese input
system or at least how to get my computer back the way it was. I guess I'll
have to use a third-party software, in that case. And how can I get rid of
this NT scanner message?

Thanks.

Not only that, but all my fonts in Outlook and Newsreader have changed, and
I cannot get them back the way they were. Not to mention that this damn
message about NT scanner keeps popping up and shutting of my virus software.

I should have left well enough alone.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Worse yet: I also work in other languages, and now all my upper ASCII
characters come out as Chinese characters, and I cannot figure out how to
get it back to normal.

I'm not quite sure how I did it, but I got everything back to normal. I
guess I'll stick with third-party software for Chinese.
