Chinese characters?

In my database, I have a record where the person entering put 1899 as the
date. I don't know whether that has caused this or not, but now all my
english characters have been replaced with Chinese. I get two errors when
trying to update or delete the record "Invalid Arugment" and " The search key
was not found in any record". Could you please tell me what I can do to
correct t his record, or delete it?

The symptoms indicate you have a corrupt record.

Try deleting the bad record. It will probably fail with the errors you
mentioned.

If it cannot be deleted, the solution is to recreate the table. Follow the
steps in the:

Thank you again (you have helped me before). First thing I did was per your
suggestion, repair/compress database. That allowed me to delete the bad
record.
