Child domain distribution issue

Hi, I've got a problem when trying to add a user who's a member of a child
domain to a distribution group on the parent domain.
The parent domain is a Windows 2000 Server with Exchange 2000.
The child domain is a Windows 2003 Server with Exchange 2003.
If I try to add the user through members of the distribution group, I get
the error....
no objects can be found in this location. choose another location.
If I try from the user to the distribution from the child domain be clicking
on the member of section.
It doesn't give me the option to look at the parent domain, just the child
domain.

Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts.

Don't worry about that, I solved it.
Discovered that Exchange was running on Mixed mode and not native.
As soon as I changed it, I was able to make the changes.
