I have Cheyenne Bitware from http://www.spyfind.com/bitware.html

When I install the software the modem comes up detected as an error. I
would really like to resolve this problem because the features on this piece
of freeware software I really need.

I would use another type of freeware software that supports caller
notification for faxes and voice mails.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not as such - just that my computer apparently needs this; I have a disc
but it not only won't work my modem, it puts an entry in autoexec bat that
stop windows from booting.

I don't normally use the modem, but I'll be interested in any answers.

To date I've been to their website for a driver, but I need to get into my
computer to find the part number of the modem.

If it helps, their site is

If you're using XP, then good luck! I gave up trying to get Bitware to
work having previously run it for years and I don't think its
compatible.

I only occasionally use the modem to fax. I found a freeware program
called Free Call Center. It seems to have voice and fax capabilities.

What's the entry?

I've forgotten now, I deleted it some time ago, but it was a path to
the Bitware software, ie path = C:\ bitrate etc.

I'm not quite sure why that sould stop me booting, - I'm not a nexpert -
but it did, as soon as I deleted it, the computer would boot
