checksum error - repost

This a repost of a message sent before on 7 Nov 03 but it has apparently
gone lost ...

What is a "checksum error" message shown when booting up WindowsXP Home? A
message also stated to hit F4 for checking BIOS. I rest BIOS to default and
booting proceeded normally.

I am using an Intel Motherboard with P4 and HT, using latest BIOS.

This is h/w issue relating to your system failing during POST. It
occurs before the OS starts to load. It usually has something to do
with your BIOS changing settings, or bad memory modules.

If you aren't comfortable troubleshooting BIOS or memory problems,
pack it up and take it to a shop.

See my answer to your previous post. Probably motherboard battery.
